How to Decorate a Small Bathroom and Bedroom to Look Bigger

When designing your bathroom and bedroom, you want to ensure that the design fits into your space regardless of its size. But this may seem challenging, especially when you're dealing with a small space. However, you can design your small bath and bed and make it bigger than it is. You only need a little remodeling and add a few touches that will create an illusion of a bigger place without removing anything out of your decoration.

Follow these tips to decorate your bedroom bathroom and make it appear larger.

Install a Larger Mirror

Aside from adding illusion to your space, adding a large quality mirror into your bathroom decor also helps to reflect more light back into your bathroom. If you already have a small mirror in your bathroom, you should consider replacing it with a bigger one measuring about 3 feet high and 5 feet long.

Use Small Decorations

If you're a lover of artwork, rugs, or other decor items, you should use only a few designs if you want your bathroom and bedroom to appear bigger. No doubt, rugs, and artwork may make your space feel warm and more inviting, but they can declutter your bedroom when not checked. So, use only what is essential and thin out items that aren't needed in your bathroom.

Minimize Dividing Lines and Color Contrasts

When designing your bedroom and bathroom, you need to reduce the use of sharp contrasts and avoid dividing lines to avoid making your bed and bath appear smaller. If you can, blur lines or erase them between items.

Add a Shower Enclosure

Your shower or bathtub is often the largest item in your bathroom, and adding an enclosure will further make it bigger. If you already have an enclosure in your bathroom, make it transparent. Shower and tub enclosures without frames are often designed with thick tempered glass that is held on every corner. The enclosure becomes very invisible when the glass is frameless.

Use Similar Materials for Decoration

Using different materials for your bedroom and bathroom decor can make them look disorganized, busy, and cramped. The use of different materials also doesn't make your room visually appealing. So, you have to ensure that things are matched rightly for the best results. For instance, if you have a quartz countertop in your bedroom, it should match the look of other items around it.

If you can not remove or replace any item to match others, you can simply repaint the item. When choosing colors for your bed and bath, choose lighter colors to make your home more inviting and relaxing, bringing a calming ambiance. When choosing a new tile, go for large format tiles.
